More details about the narrative: The Script

In this week's update, I'm excited to share part of the script for Arma X. The script currently only covers the first scenes of the game, as my development timeline and academic requirements limit my resources for writing a complete script.

To help set the stage for the game's plot, I am planning to create an introduction video that will use real images from World War II and a narrator to explain the alternate reality in which the game is set. I'll share more details about this in my next post.

For now, let's dive into the script. The first scenes involve a conversation between the game's protagonist and Colonel Harris, during which the plot is introduced and some long-term goals are established. The action begins on the coast of Iceland, where the player sees the protagonist diving and swimming toward the shore. As this is happening, we'll hear a past conversation between the protagonist and Colonel Harris that provides some background information.

Once the protagonist reaches the beach and contacts Colonel Harris in real-time, the gameplay begins with a tutorial that introduces the parkour mechanics I've been working on for months. The player will climb a cliff and approach the enemy base, avoiding detection along the way. This triggers a second scene where the protagonist

once again speaks with the Colonel to assess the situation. It's at this moment that I introduce the villain, who arrives at the military base by helicopter and interrupts the conversation. Once the identity of the villain is revealed, Colonel Harris reminds the player of their mission to execute it stealthily.

You can have a look at the state of the script right here:

That's all I can reveal for now. Stay tuned for my next post, where I'll share more about the introduction video and other aspects of Arma X.
