The Arma X Intro

In this week's post we present one of the key pieces in the narrative construction of the game: the introduction video, also known as a prologue according to our Narrative Design Document.

The video, created with Adobe Premiere, is a combination of footage from World War II depicting a series of fictional events. Through a voiceover, an alternative story is told using images of real events, which gives rise to a kind of mockumentary that enriches the game's narrative.

Creating a video of this type requires a clear idea of what you want to tell, as well as reviewing dozens of documentaries to extract fragments that fit the desired narrative. Subsequently, a suitable soundtrack is added and the necessary effects are applied, such as the last scene of a fictional map created with Adobe After Effects.

The narrator's voice is generated by an artificial intelligence tool courtesy of NaturalReaders.com, while the music selected to set the story is "Knives and Bullets (And Cannons too)" by Dario Marianelli, which was used in the film." V for Vendetta" in 2005.

To achieve perfect synchronization, various adjustments had to be made, such as trimming the music and transitioning between different moments of the song, as well as adjusting the voice of the AI tool to make it sound more natural. All this was achieved thanks to the use of the Audacity tool for audio processing.

Without further ado, here is the final result that I hope you enjoy.
